Psalm 93. Enthronement Psalm

Used in the Temple Worship every 6th day (FRIDAY).

The END of the 6th day was the beginning of the SABBATH.

This Psalm reminds us to REST in GOD because He is POWERFUL

1. (Psalm 97:1) " The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice."

2. (Psalm 99:1) " The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake."

A Picture of God’s JUSTICE

“When sorrows like sea billows roll”

A. The SEA a metaphor of the Gentile Nations.

1. (Daniel 7:3) "Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea."

2. (Revelation 13:1) "And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I

saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name."

B. This passage looked forward to the coming Babylonian captivity.

C. 93:4. God is “mightier than the breakers of the sea”

E. The disciples. (Mark 4:37-38) "A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
